Bourbon Trail at Disney Springs
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
Fan favorite, the Famous Thigh High Chicken Biscuits, is front and center at this stop. Paired with The Old Fashioned Elder (Michter’s Bourbon and St. Germaine Elderflower) or (and?!) Basil Hayden’s Mint Julep (Basil Hayden’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, simple syrup, and sprigs of fresh mint), this three-biscuits with pairings could be lunch and dinner!
D-Luxe Burger
Smoked Bourbon Gelato Shake (vanilla gelato blended with Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbon, hickory smoke, and dark chocolate sauce, topped with a bacon strip) is paired with the Southern Burger at this location.
Frontera Cocina
Dine inside or out at this Chef Rick Bayless contemporary Mexican destination. The Carne Asada, a standard on this menu, is matched with Bourbon Nectar (Basil Hayden’s Bourbon, agave, Elemakule Tiki Bitters, and orange peel).
The Polite Pig
Wash down your Southern Pig Sandwich with “The Winner’s Circle”- Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Pamplemousee grapefruit liqueur, and elderflower tonic.
Paddlefish
Most folks paddle over to this restaurant for their fish offerings, but the Bourbon Trail at Disney Springs encourages you to try their 10-ounce Pork Chop served with house-made apple sauce and fresh green beans. The Southern Sangria is their choice of beverage here; Medley Bros. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, peach liqueur, Tempranillo, and seasonal fruit.
The BOATHOUSE
Waterfront dining with a twist. Of lemon, that is. The Orlando Pride features Old Forester Bourbon with a home-made blackberry citrus puree. strong, but delicious! Pick at the Calamari rings and toast to the Amphicars!
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar
Likewise, head next door and do the same with your Coffee Old Fashioned- Woodland Reserve Bourbon, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur, Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, vanilla syrup, aromatic bitters, served with a coffee ganache square. Their Snakebite Sliders will keep you busy too.
The Ganachery
And you thought this stop was all about the chocolate? While the Chipotle Ganache Square will fix that craving, their Woodland Reserve Bourbon is a tough of the unexpected!
Raglan Road
Typically found on the late-night “Pub Grub” menu is the Dub Schpuds; decadent potatoe wedges with a Smithwicks and Dubliner cheese dip. Add a pint (of course, of Smithwicks) and you have a meal! “The Gold Cup” is the event bourbon drink- Bulleit Bourbon, Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, with muddled mint, lime, and cucumber.
The Edison
(High) step back in time and visit The Edison for entertainment, unique scenery, and the DB Clothesline Candied Bacon. Wash this appetizer down with a Peach Tree Downs- a peach mint julep with Knob Creek Bourbon and Old Camp Peach Pecan Whiskey.
Paradiso 37
Have you sampled the Argentinian Skirt Steak yet? No time like the present! I wish I had gotten the chance to try their version of the classic Sunrise- the Kentucky Sunrise features Jim Beam Bourbon, orange juice, and grenadine.
Enzo’s Hideaway
Hidden below Maria & Enzo’s is the speakeasy with an Italian accent. The showcased hanging salumi and provolone become the featured “Salumi and Formaggi Board” and is paired with Enzo’s Bourbon Swizzle- Bulleit Bourbon, lemon juice, ginger syrup, bitters, and fresh mint sprigs. Password not needed!
STK Orlando
And now, dessert! Start with that Bag O’ Donuts, the dulce de leche filled variety. If time (and stomach allows) the Double Smoked Bacon with Double Down (Woodford Reserve with lemon juice) beverage await.
