We go for the immersion. We go to envelop ourselves in magic. It’s what we expect from a Disney park. With the introduction of Disneyland’s Star Wars Launch Bay, Hyperspace Mountain, Behold Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, and the opening of Galaxy’s Edge, it is now that the FORCE that surrounds our sight, touch, hearing, smells, and even taste in the parks. Season of the Force also delivered the taste bud pleasing Galactic Grill, and it remains a star.
Disneyland’s Galactic Grill
To round out your stellar experience, this Quick Service restaurant serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner that is pleasing to Padawans and Master Jedi alike. It is one of the best Disneyland Quick Service options, in my mind.
Located in Tomorrowland Terrace, this culinary ode to the cosmos offers fresh and healthy options, in combination with the more typical down-to-earth fare.
Breakfast
(Note: In pandemic times, breakfast may not be served here. Instead, jet over to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in nearby Galaxy’s Edge for a Mustafarian Lava Roll!)
Though limited, the Galactic Grill Breakfast menu is tasty and the perfect way to set your flyer on course for the day. I tried the delicious (though spicy) Darth Tamale. I learned from my years in living in San Diego, when in Southern California, go Mexicali. This means that if you are an East Coaster, you may need to double up on your beverage of choice to put the fire out!
For instance, the Blue Corn Tamale with Scrambled Eggs, Chorizo, Red Chili Sauce (that’s the kicker), and Tomatillo Sauce will send you to Endor without a rocket! My companion tried the Lars Family Breakfast Platter, which is much more sedate and standard, expected breakfast fare. Try the Moisture Farm Fresh Fruit Platter for a low octane choice. Mother of Moons! Breakfast is served at this location until 10:30 am each day; completely convenient to fuel your travels around Season of the Force.
Lunch & Dinner
Avoid enemy fire with the First Order Specialty Burger- an Angus Beef Patty with Chorizo served with a Black Bun. Make it extra fun with your fries served in a Han Solo Bucket!! Wicket’s Wicked Veggie Sandwich is your healthy option for lunch and dinner. And the kiddies will love the lean Jawa Turkey Sand-Wich on the now famous Bantha Blue Milk Bread. I did too!
The undeniably unhealthy dessert choice- Darth By Chocolate- is an out-of-this-world Parfait with layers of Dark Chocolate Ganache, Red Velvet Cake, and Chocolate Sponge.
Don’t miss their Seasonal offerings (such as the “Blood Orange Slush” at Halloween, either!
Disneyland Dining
At Disneyland’s Galactic Grill, use your Deluxe & Southern California Annual Pass (now a “Magic Key”) for up to a 15% discount on dining!
To complete your sensory adventure, time your meal around Behold Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple schedules. Better yet, sign up your Jedi wanna-be and get to the rail about 30 minutes before show time. Talk about the best of all worlds- a Jedi Order Chicken Sandwich with a side of lightsabers!
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a Disney Park not very far, far away… In Tomorrowland’s Galactic Grill!
Sounds like a great place for an out of this world meal!
I'm a sucker for the immersion experience Tim!
I've always enjoyed dining in this spot and watching the Jedi show. I love that the food now coordinates with the area…so much fun!
I think the setting influenced my opinion of the food Julie. Any Jedi-in-training should eat here as part of their drills! 😉
We haven't eaten here but we did sit one day to watch the Jedi Training Academy, Darth Maul was with Darth Vader, and he jumped toward the crowd, it was so funny because some of the crowd was quite startled!
I'll have to try this the next time out! Thanks, Didi!
It's like a "bonus" show Mike, isn't it? I think anyone who passes it by is missing out! If you get back to Seasons of the Force, you must grab a bite here to complete your journey. 😉
I'm glad you reviewed this as we didn't eat here when we visited Disneyland twice last year. I think we were so stuck on FLo's and The Jolly Holiday Cafe that we were stuck on those. This place sounds intriguing.
I would give it a shot on your next trip to Disneyland then; you never know exactly how long Season of the Force will last. I have a hunch it will be a terrific primer for what's to come in Star Wars Land!!
I LOVE that you can sit in the shade, eat and watch the training academy. This really is a one stop eatery!!
