Orlando International Airport’s long-awaited Terminal C has arrived. One of their first tenants, (and Walt Disney World favorite) Wine Bar George MCO has landed. In First Class style!
Wine Bar George MCO
Make travel taste-ful again!!
Approximately twenty minutes away from its flagship location in Disney Springs, Wine Bar George MCO has popped the proverbial cork in the grand Palm Court space.
What to Expect
Though I pulled up a stool during its soft opening, I immediately felt as though I was HOME. (As opposed to sadly leaving for mine!) From staffing to wine service to chow, this Wine Bar George is right on schedule.
- Known for its wines by the glass, bottle, and ounce, 75 varieties await thirsty travelers.
- Hours of Operation: 5 am (yes!) to “last departing flight” (typically 9 pm or so).
- Breakfast, small plates, that famous charcuterie, and a limited selection of entrees are offered. (Rest easy, the Director of Culinary Development for Wine Bar George, Ron Rupert, has created the menu.)
Also of note, Corkcicle refills and Wine Bar George gift cards not valid at the MCO airport location.
George Miliotes
As one of only 268 Master Sommeliers in the world, George Miliotes is without a doubt a superstar. But in the Disney community, his legendary superstar status was established in 1995. That year, as part of the California Grill‘s opening team, he created this longstanding bedrock of Disney Signature Dining. He managed this jewel atop the crown of Disney’s Contemporary Grill until 2002.
Perhaps the most endearing aspect of his Disney Springs location is that he is so often on premises! We can only hope that he will share his wine tips at the airport location from time to time.
Orlando International Airport (MCO)
Though layovers, delays, and pandemic travel in general is currently excruciating, may I say that I CANNOT wait for my next Walt Disney World vacation? And might I add that Wine Bar George and Terminal C will be part that next trip plan?! Make it yours…
