Back to school prep begins with the quest for THE perfect lunch box. One that all the other kids would hoop and holler over. The Imagineers at Walt Disney World surely had fond memories of this childhood rite of passage, and have created Andy’s version for new visitors to Toy Story Land. Not only does it look the part (we are just toys, after all), Woody’s Lunch Box is filled with comfort food goodness that many of us can only wish our mothers had the recipes for!
** Disclaimer: I accompanied an invited guest to a Toy Story Land Disney media event. All impressions are my own.
Here in Andy’s backyard color is the name of the game, and this quick-service restaurant has bold colors a-poppin’.
Ready for your nostalgia overload?? So were the chefs and Imagineers who created this throw-back eatery.
Chef Joseph and Chef Tony describe the visceral impetus for the food and beverage creations showcased at Woody’s Lunch Box. Whether Guests are 60, like myself, who bought the family tickets to Toy Story when it opened in theaters in 1995, twenty-something, like my two boys that grew up and left for college alongside Andy, or my grandchildren, who were introduced to the franchise with Toy Story 3, there is a multi-generational emotional appeal to the food choices here.
Woody’s Lunch Box
Woody’s Lunch Box is feeding hungry toys at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Did your childhood favorite make the cut?? Come see my top must eats in the breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner round up.
Breakfast
S’mores? What small or large child doesn’t have an attachment to them? Though my kids were never served s’mores for breakfast, but the S’more French Toast Sandwich was the clear winner in the taste and creativity categories. Get your early FastPass+ to Slinky Dog Dash. And DO NOT miss this goodie!
Woody’s Lunch Box hearty breakfast choice for extra hungry buckaroos goes to the Breakfast Bowl heaped with Potato Barrels, Smoked Country Gravy, and Scrambled Eggs. So filling and yummy it will fuel you for many, many twirls on Alien Swirling Saucers.
Snacks
Though available all day long, these goodies to go are my new favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios snack. Though the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart was my favorite (my ten-year-old self would love a blueberry addition here!), the Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart was quite good too. The tart pastry is certainly more “down home” than the variety most kids will remember. For sure, the grown-up additions of “crispy pearls” and “candied Bacon” elevate this snack to the winner category!
Lunch and Dinner
Though the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich is as gooey and delicious as the name implies, and “Totchos” (that popular tater tot/nacho creation) take the potato barrels that course through the menu to another level, it is the BBQ Brisket Melt that steals this show. (It is also Chef Gullia’s favorite item!) Honestly, I don’t think I have tasted brisket that is leaner or more tender; warm and gooey comfort food it is!
Adult Beverages
For the young buckaroos, the adorable Souvenir Alien Sipper will elevate any POWERade or fountain soda on the menu to super galactic status. For those big kids, there are several alcoholic beverages at Woody’s Lunch Box, including beer, hard cider, and Grown-Up’s Lemonade. This concoction of Three Olives Cherry Vodka, odwalla® All-Natural Lemonade and Black Cherry Purée was also pretty out of this world!!
Take note that the chefs assured us that gluten-free and vegetarian options available upon request. Mobile ordering is also an option, as the stampede to Woody’s Lunch Box will not be a-slowin’ any time soon!
Be sure to march your green army to Toy Story Land soon. And remember, you simply cannot become a full-fledged honorary toy without immersing yourself in the fixin’s that Andy’s mom has cooked up in Woody’s Lunch Box!

I KNOW! It’s been a Disneyland fav for so many years… Unfortunately, it was taken off this menu early on. The chef indicated it would make a comeback. I sure hope I get to update the post!! 😉
